Hip Hip Hooray!

Okay so I recently posted about how my laptop died, well......IT LIVES AGAIN! We decided to take it into Redrock Computers just to see if there was anything they could do and guess what ?? $70 later, I have my computer back. So much for stupid HP and the phone call where they told me my only option was to buy a new FIVE HUNDRED dollar harddrive. Anyway, I was just super happy and had to share my good news.

Merry Christmas

We had a great Christmas this year. We started out with Micah's family and were so excited to see Tyler and Kari Ann who came from North Carolina. Mya loved seeing her cousins Braden and McKenna. Grandma and Grandpa up came from California. They are the sweetest grandparents ever and spoil the grandkids WAY WAY too much.

It was so much fun to see the kids Christmas morning. Tay loved all of his trucks and kept on saying "LOOOOK LOOOOK LOOOOOK at everything in the room that was new and exciting.

Now we are in good old Lyman visiting the other side of the fam. The boys have had a fun time playing basketball and Ice skating. I opted to stay home with Tay. I tend to be quite clumsy and a little uncoordinated well a lot uncoordinated at times and knowing my luck I would have landed kersplat on my big Buddha belly. I did however go clay pigeon shooting. Micah is a pretty good shot, I could use some practice.

Here are some pictures of our Christmas

round three

Yesterday I went for a routine doctor appointment and it turns out I have to have ANOTHER ultrasound. When she measured me I was measuring really small for how far along I am. She didn't seem too concerned and said it could just be that the baby was laying sideways in my stomach but just to be sure the baby is growing on track, I have to have an ultrasound tomorrow.
I wouldn't think of it as a big deal, but because we are not finding out what we are having this time it is really a pain having to get so many ultrasounds. It was hard enough the first time not to look, then the second time not to look and now for the THIRD time. They are torturing me.
I am kind of tempted to know just because of the fact that Mya is 100,000,000% sure she is having a baby sister and if it comes out a boy she doesn't want it, she wants him to go to a different family. We have tried explaining to her that we don't know if it is a girl but she is insistent on having a sister because she already has a brother. We could be in for a major breakdown of the Mya Bizya if out pops a little boy!
Don't worry, I won't look, I have waited 30 weeks, I can wait 10 more..... Man I have amazing self control.

A sad day

Last year my wonderful grandparents bought me a laptop with a webcam for my birthday so that when Micah was in Iraq and I was traveling to my moms a lot we would be able to webcam each other. It has been a great computer and I have become quite attached to it.
until last night when I went to turn it on and nothing. This morning I called HP and I only had a 1 year warranty and I have had my computer for a year and a half so I am S-O-L. They ran me through steps only to confirm that my hard drive has crashed and that it would be $570 dollars to get a new one. Uhhh no thanks! I can buy a new one for around that price but it sure won't be anytime soon. At least Micah still has his laptop so I guess I will be okay.
I am really sad about all of the old pictures and some of the cool software I had on my old one but we will hopefully be able to get those off somehow.
Goodbye HP Pavilion, Sorry I ran you to the bone and you died on me...I will miss you. :(

First winter snow

The kids had a great time playing in the snow for the first time this year. Tay was having a blast until our wonderful dog took his feet out from under him causing him to do a face plant into the snow.

Santa

On Saturday We took Mya and Tay to see Santa at Lins. Holy kids! The line was so long. We stood there for forty-five minutes, poor Micah with his eye watering and him feeling sick the whole time only for Mya to freak out when we got up to him. I picked her up and tried to sit her on his lap and let out this screaking scream because she was so scared. Little stinker! It would have been that big of a deal if we hadn't just spent an all that time waiting to see him, and of course when we walked out of the store she started crying becasue Santa won't know what to bring her now and she won't get any presents. Tay was scared but at least he sat on his lap long enough to get a picture.

Thursday night Micah went in to give Mya a hug and kiss goodnight. She was asleep and rolled over right when Micah leaned down and somehow her finger scratched his eyeball.
He came running out of the room saying honey, honey, come look at my eye! Mya scratched it. He was in a lot of pain but for some reason I got the giggles and could not stop laughing. He would pry his eye open with his fingers and have me look and see if I could tell what had happened but every time I tried to look I would start laughing.
For some reason the kids always hurt Micah. A while ago Tay smacked him in the nose with a sharp edge of this cake pan splitting his nose open. Once again, I couldn't stop laughing. Anyway, back to the Mya incident, he got mad at me and told me to just go to bed if I wasn't going to stop laughing at him because he was in such pain.
He tried to go to bed that night but finally at 2 am he couldn't take it anymore. He had to drive himself to the ER. Turns out Mya had taken a chunk out of his eye. I felt so bad that I had laughed so hard at him. They gave him antibiotics and lortab but it just wasn't helping. He had to go in again on Saturday at 5 in the morning because his eye was swollen shut and was full of gunk. When they looked at it they found out it had flowered open and is now even bigger. He can't even see out of it, it is just all blurry and he still has to take pain pills.

California

Micah and I were suppose to spend Thanksgiving with my family in Lyman this year but at the last minute decided to take one last trip to California before I have the baby and it makes it that much harder to travel. My mom was really sweet to keep Tay for us while we went. We debated taking him but finally decided that he would have much more fun in Wayne County than riding in a car for seven hours then sitting in a stoller all day at Disneyland and getting drug around all over the place.
Mya was an angel all the way there and back. She had so much fun at Grandma and Grandpa Jerry's. Her favorite was their hot tub and feeding the ducks. She and Grandpa fed the ducks about every hour. They must have gained a lot of weight while she was visiting. She thought it was so fun. She didn't want to leave their house. She loved staying with them. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa, We had a great time.
On Thanksgiving day we went to Micah's brother Kody and Nikki's and had dinner with them, Micah's sister Kaily and Robbie, and Nikki's sister and Robert. It was a full house but we had so much fun. The kids were good and Mya had so much fun playing with all of her girl cousins. Finally she got to play house and girl things with some girl cousins. I don't know how Nikki does it all with five little ones but her and Kaily pulled off an amazing dinner. It was delicious! Micah was sad that he had to miss out on my moms homemade rolls but somehow along with all of the other things Nikki had to get done, she made some yummy homemade rolls, Micah's favorite! After dinner we went down to the beach. Mya loved the water even though it was cold. She hada blast. They were so sweet to let us stay at their house even when they already had company staying with them.
On Friday we took Mya and her cousin Alex to Disneyland. I thought Mya would like it better than she did. She was scared of everything! When we went into It's A Small World she got so scared and wanted to get out. Then we went to Alice in Wonderland and she was crying by the end. We decided that all of the rides that were enclosed and dark she didn't like. Of course her favorite color pink was an issue as well. On every ride we had to get "the pink one" somehow we lucked out on all the rides but one. On the second round of the teacups, there wasn't a pink cup and she started crying and throwing a fit. This pink thing has got to stop.
We also went to a Lakers game while we were there. This is Micah's favorite thing to do. Micah's grandpa is so nice to let us use his season tickets! During the game they do fun little things with the crowd and put people on the big screen they have in the middle of the Arena. They do this thing called the kiss cam and whoever the camera lands on they have to kiss. It landed on Micah and I and it was pretty embarrassing to see yourself that big in front of thousands of people but it was fun. Micah loves his Lakers and it is so much fun getting to see all of the rich people and their cars that cost as much as three houses and getting to see the celebrities. This time we saw Howie Mandell, George Loepz and Andy Garcia who plays Terry Benedict on Ocean's 11.
It was such a fun trip. By the end of the week we were soo exhausted from all the fun things we got to do. Thanks everyone for letting us stay with you and making our trip so much fun!

Here are some pictures from the trip

Fantasy Basketball!!!!!

I just wanted to show the results after 2 weeks of our family/friends fantasy basketball league. I, Micah Young am the "Proud Pig" currently holding down the first place position. I would like everybody to pay special attention to the team in last place, the"Wowsers". This is Kodys team (my brother). He is a mastermind of most things but when it comes to fantasy basketball his skills are hard to recognize. He is being beat by his father (Sid the Slayer), his grandfather (the old bald man), my wife (The Tank Hater), oh ya and everybody else. Good luck Kody!!!! HaHa!!!

Daddy's Day Out

Micah went out for a few hours on Sat. with his best buddy Tony Torres. They both think they are the best Rhino drivers out there. This time they took a camera just so that I could show them on the blog. So, here they are just doing some trail riding out by our house on all the hills that Micah isn't allowed to go on when the kids and I are in with him.

Young Look-alike Meter

Micah was curious to try out the look-alike meter so we gave it a shot.

Light pink

I have mentioned before about Mya's obsession with pink. Now it has turned even worse! she now only likes light pink and if there isn't anything pink available she wants red "because red is like pink"
Today I asked Mya what she wanted for Christmas and this was her list

"A light pink bike and a light pink helmet to match my light pink bike
light pink boots
light pink care bear slippers
a light pink cowboy hat (She must have thought this up because at grandpa Peterson has cowboy hats he lets the kids wear but he doesn't have any pink ones)
a light pink scooter and another light pink helmet to match my light pink scooter
a light pink kite
a light pink umbrella
and light pink scissors"

When she was done telling me her list she said "Wow that's a lot of things. Will you tell all the things to me again because it makes me too tired to say it again."

Micah asked her if it would be okay to get her a purple bike and she got so mad at him. We better be able to find her a pink bike somewhere. As for all of the other stuff...I hope she forgets asking for it.

Kids say the funniest things

The other day Mya wanted some candy and I told her no but she kept whining and asking for some and wouldn't listen to me so Micah told her no and when her dad says no or gets mad at her, she really gets her feelings hurt. She cries crocodile tears every time he gets mad at her. He told her no and she ran into her room crying and said "I guess I'm just going to send Dad back to Iraq." I am such a push over and Micah always gets mad at me for having to be the bad guy.

Mya is really sweet to Tay usually, but like everyone when kids cry it can get annoying and Tay has been really whiny lately because he has been sick. He was crying and pulling on me when I was trying to get dinner ready and Mya had heard enough, she covered her ears and said "Ahh, stop crying Tay, I am going to throw you in the garbage can! Mom, I want the garbage man to take him away" It was pretty funny.

HaPpY HaLlOwEeN

I was so excited for Halloween this year because last year Micah was in Iraq and had to miss out on all the fun so it was great to have him with us this year.
Mya is a pink freak. She is OBSESSED with the color pink. It can be very annoying sometimes. My mom made her a really cute purple and gold cheerleader costume and she was excited to wear it.....until she saw a pink one at Walmart. Lets just say she wouldn't cooperate unless she had the pink one. Little stinker.
I had the hardest time getting the kids to pose for a picture. They would not hold still for two seconds so these are all I could get.
Micah wanted Tay and Mya to be something scary but there was no way little miss Mya be anything scary. She had to be wearing pink and be pretty.

Tay was suppose to be a dead punk rocker but he wouldn't hold still for the makeup so he just looks like he had a dirty face. He's still a little young for the whole face paint thing.

Halloween fun

Mya had a lot of fun with Taya and Braxtan the other day. I let them decorate sugar cookies and they must have been in a goofy mood because I just told them to look at the camera and they started pulling funny faces.
I don't know why this pic is sideways, It wouldn't upload right for some reason. I just thought it was cute to see how they decorated them. All of their cookies were completely covered in sprinkles and I'm sure they weren't the best tasting cookies ever. It was cute when I went to write Braxtan's name and he let me know that I could just start calling him Torres and that is what he wanted on his cookie. He was a good sport to hang out with two girly girls all morning. What cute kids!

Cute pictures

Here are a couple cute pictures from the other day. Mya and Tay are so cute together. It's true when they say having two is easier that having one when it comes to keeping them entertained. Mya is a good big sister and they had so much fun pushing around this box. Why does it seem like kids like things that aren't suppose to be toys more than the toys go buy and they play with them for two seconds and then forget about them.
This one is of Mya and her cousin Harper. Beth and I decided we would take turns tending each others kids while the other one goes to the temple each month. I don't know why it's taken us this long to think of doing this, but it works out really good. I put the kids to bed at 8:00, their usual time and finally by 9:15 they fell asleep. I do have to admit that even though I went in a million times and told them to stop talking, it was soo cute to hear them chatting away about their day and what they were being for Halloween and who knows what else. They would start out whispering so I would think they were asleep but then they would forget they were suppose to be quiet and I would hear one of them burst out laughing. Pretty cute!

Pumpkin festival

Last Saturday we took the kids to the Pumpkin Festival. It was nice to do something different for a change and Mya had a blast! It is so much fun when kids get old enough to really know what is going on when holidays roll around. She was able to decorate a cookie, go bowling with pumpkins, they had face painting, bobbing for donuts, and many more fun activities.
Cute little Mya and Tank in the corner...yes, he got to come too. I wanted to leave him home but he seemed to be a main attraction. We had to stop every second for someone to pet him. Dumb dog.
My boys. Tay really needs a haircut but we're holding out 'till after Halloween because he is going to a dead punk rocker and he needs some major spikes for it.
Tay didn't know what to think of the giant pumpkin. Mya of course wouldn't cooperate when we tried to sit her on one and take her picture.

Tay boy and the Tankster

When I let MIcah get a dog I don't know what I was thinking. For all of you out there thinking about getting one, don't do it! j/k but if I could go back, I would say no way. Sometimes I forget we have a dog and not a pig. Why you ask? because he stinks like a pig, he snorts like a pig and he is slow and lazy like a pig. You know, come to think of it, I wish we had a pig instead. If we had a pig I would know that in the end there would be a reward for raising it. Lots of ham and bacon...I love bacon. Just kidding!! He is a good dog and the kids love him, but I'm just not a dog kind of person.

Tay and Tank are best buds. Tank if so good to let Tay ride him, pull on his face and wrestle him and is always very soft. Here are some pictures that I thought were cute of the two.

Tay's got him in a headlock
He doesn't seem to mind it when Tay pulls on his face

Tank is always biting Tay's toes so I guess Tay thought he would chew on his for once

GO BADGERS!!

It was so much fun to watch my twin brothers Lance and Tyce play baseball this weekend in the state championship. I can't believe they are seniors and this was their last baseball game
:-( Time flies, I still remember them playing little league like it was yesterday. This was Wayne Highs 3rd consecutive state title. It is cool to see my little brothers take state from the time they were sophomores. Wayne has a winning streak of 51 consecutive games which is the second longest in the history of any Utah baseball team From their freshman to senior year, they had 75 wins and only 5 losses. Pretty impressive huh!
Way to go boys!!

BOY OR GIRL???

Here are some pictures of our ultrasound from yesterday. Micah talked me into not finding out what we are having since we already have a boy and girl and have everything we will need. It is so hard not to know but at the same time I think it will make the delivery so much more exciting. Everyone else is dying to know. Beth tried getting the ultrasound lady to write it in an envelope and her and Tina would be the only ones to know, but I know I would try way to hard to get it out of her.

I thought I was over the hard part but no, the hospital called today and said the computer didn't save any of my ultrasound so they want me to come in tomorrow and do the whole ultrasound over again. Okay, are they trying to kill me?? It was hard enough the first time not to look so we will see how good I do tomorrow with not looking.
Here is a video of the baby kicking its foot above its head.

Finally painted

Micah and I have been wanting to paint for a long time now, and we finally buckled down and did it. We started when the kids went down for naps and hoped to get it done before they woke up. Luckily, they both slept for three hours and we had it finished and cleaned up by the time they woke up. We had a good time, we turned on conference and painted away. I am still getting use to it and can't decide if I like it, but I think it will grow on me. Paint always looks so different when it is actually on the wall and not just a little "card" that you get as a sample.
Here is the before and after of part of the kitchen. The color we got I think is called earth green. It looks a little different in a picture than it does in real life.
I didn't take a picture of this wall before it was painted, but I think it turned out really pretty with the white piano.

"Don't even worry about it mom..."

Mya is getting to the point where she will very rarely take naps. With me being pregnant, if I don't have a nap during the day I am toast by 8:00. Sometimes I get lucky and Mya will fall asleep on the couch while watching a cartoon then I get to sleep too. Today I must have been really tired, I woke up to a blowing sound and found Mya with two colors of finger nail polish and all the way done painting her fingers and toes.
I ran over to her thinking I would find spilled fingernail polish all over my tile as she was saying
" Don't even worry about it mom, I'm getting bigger and older and can paint them by myself. See, aren't they just perfect?" She did do a pretty good job, her fingernails are purple and her toes are pink. She had found a sucker that she had waiting for her when she was done and said
" I got me this sucker for being soo very patient while I painted my fingers and toes. Would you like me to paint yours mom?"
I was just glad she was on the tile and had a dishtowel that she was sitting on while painting them because she is definitely not old enough to do it herself yet.

Happy Anniversary!!

Today is our four year anniversary! I can't believe how fast time goes by. Last year we were apart for our anniversary with Micah being in Iraq so it is like celebrating two anniversaries this year. I am so glad Micah is back now and I get to be with him today. Last year was long and hard but definitely made our marriage stronger and made us realize how important we are to each other. I am so lucky to have such a sweet husband.

Here are a few pictures of our wedding day. They are the only ones I have that are on the computer.

Kokapelli Triathlon

This weekend Micah participated in his first triathlon. It was at Sand Hollow. I went down and watched him with the kids. He did really good! He took ninth place in his age category out of 60 plus people and 55th overall out of over 600 people.
I wish I could have gotten better pictures but that is as good as I could do. I tried to run to each station and get a picture of him starting each event but with kids it kind of didn't happen. I didn't get one of him starting on the bike.
Here is a picture of him getting done swimming and on his way to the bike ride
This is him just getting done on the bike and taking off on the run
Right after the race. He did it! I was impressed that he did so well for not training very much and this being his first one.
