Colbie Caillat concert

Last night my sister-in-law Kari Ann, her sisters and I had a good time when we got to have a girls night out and go to a concert at Tuacahn.

We went to dinner at my favorite resturaunt ever, the Olive Garden and then went to the concert. While there we met up with Micah's sister Lundi and her friend Kelsie.

"It might choke Artie, but it won't choke Stymie"

We use to watch the original Little Rascals all the time at my grandma Peterson's when we were little and that is my favorite saying. Stymie goes begging for food and gets an artichoke but can't figure out how to eat it he start peeling and peeling until he gets to the heart and then throws it away and says, "it might choke artie but it won't choke Stymie".
Well, Mya has the art of eating artichokes down, but the thing she didn't realize is that I have to cook them first. I was at the store waiting in line to check out and this older couple in the next line over kept looking at her laughing and smiling and of course I just thought they were thinking she was cute. Then I looked at her and saw she was hiding her hand underneath the sack that an artichoke was in. When I asked her what she was doing she wouldn't talk, she just kept her mouth shut tight. I began to pry open her little fingers and discovered she had been peeling off and eating the whole leaves or whatever you call them of the artichoke. I don't know how long she had been doing it but I felt bad because they are soo bitter and gross until they are cooked.
I don't think I will ever have to worry about her doing that again.

My Bags Are Packed I'm Ready

The time has almost come to leave Iraq. I even had to pack up my most prized possesion, my Lakers blanket!!!! Less than a month left in this place, gosh I am excited!!!!!

I just had to share the great news I received from Micah the other day which was MUCH needed. Mya and Tay were sick all weekend so we didn't leave the house and Monday I decided I needed to buckle down and do my taxes so by this time we all were going crazy being stuck in the house. I felt like the worst mom ever. If you could have seen my kids you would have agreed. It was about noon, none of us had showered, Mya was in her underwear with chocolate pudding ALL over in her scraggly hair, on her face and all over her belly. I think she might have painted herself with it but I'm not sure I wasn't paying attention because I was too involved in my stupid taxes. Poor little Tay who just wanted me to hold him got stuck in the highchair eating everything from Marshmallows, suckers, chocolate chips, Cheerios, Cheerios, and more Cheerios and anything else that Mya could find for to make him not cry.
Anyway, the whole point of this story is that Micah called and made my day when he told me they have shipped home all of the things that aren't necessary for them to use anymore and their replacements will be there next month (I feel sorry for them and their families) and that their last day at the compound is the first of May and then it is a month of trying to get home! Of course by the time they get 1,000 men out of Iraq by helicopter, and go through all of the army demobilization that could take a while, but they are expected to be home the first of June!! There are a lot of people who tell me not to get my hopes up and that he will not be home in June. Well, they might as well be talking to a wall because all I have are my hopes. Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Micah is such a cute dad, he is always thinking of crazy things to buy Mya that are so much fun. Two years ago for Christmas he bought her this giant ball and until now we have never had a backyard to let her play with it.

I was tending my friend Rachel's kids and they all had a blast rolling around in the ball.

Much needed time away

My mother-in-law called me the other day and said she would watch the kids if I had any errands I needed to run. I had just gone grocery shopping and did everything I needed to get done but I wasn't going to pass up the chance to "get away" I was trying to think of something I needed to do and then I came up with the perfect "errand" to run, a massage. I don't know how many of you out there have spent money to get a professional massage, I didn't know if it would be worth it but it was money well spent. There is nothing like a head to toe body massage. Who knew that it would feel good to have your ears massaged. I would highly suggest to all mothers out there to take an hour to relax. I'm sure your back hurts like mine does after picking up kids, cleaning the house, changing diapers and cooking dinner. So you should all take my advice and go get a massage. You deserve it!

Porter Ellett on GMA and Today show

After hearing about Porter, The Today Show and Good Morning America both contacted him and wanted him on their show. He said he wouldn't go unless he could take the starting five with him and Goor Morning America agreed. Here is a clip of him on the show.

Region Basketball

It was so much fun watching Lance and Tyce play ball this past weekend.

Every time they play, Mya wears her purple and gold. Everyone always gives me a hard time because they are all Jazz fans and Mya is wearing A Lakers Jersey, What can I say, I married a die hard Lakers fan.

It is the last minute of their game against Piute, Lance got a couple big steals, Porter made some good shots and Tyce made the game winning shot, a three pointer along with a foul.

Date night

Mya is becoming a little girl, it is weird how fast they grow. One of Mya's favorite thing to do is put Tay to bed and have our little date nights. We make cookies, eat bubble gum icecream, candy and anything else that is bad for you, And the best part is that I don't have to feel guilty because Micah's not there to see us devour a whole plate of cookies in one night.

Pizza Party!

After a long day and a very successful mission we all decided to have our 1st Iraq pizza and mountain dew celebration. We ate like pigs and then took some pics with our weapons since we are not allowed to take our cameras on missions, that is a lame rule. I wish I could send some pictures of us actually doing our jobs. It would surely make my section of the blog alot more interesting.

My home away from home

This is my section of the POD we live in (eight of us). My bed is above me. My desk is my contico box. My bookshelf is made out of string, and all I do in this area is talk to Jules and the kids on my laptop. I could use some more space that's for sure!
