Wowza's!!!

Holy cow I am a slacker! Much like a lot of things I do, sad to say...but really, what a better way to do our journaling right, and after seeing my buddy ol' pal Megan yesterday, I decided I SOO need to get back into it! So from now on, it is my goal to blog/journal every Sunday-ish. Hmm, so where to start after a year of nothingness? Well just from this day I guess, Life is great!!! We moved to Sunny St. George, wow what an amazing place to live!!! Holy cow I thought I would miss Cedar City, but NOPE! Kids being kids, Micah loving work, mom being mom and taking pictures on the side... hey you should jump on over to facebook and like JULES PHOTOS :)Also in the middle of building a website...getting very busy, which is good, BUT I've learned, and take my advice, if you want a hobby to stay a hobby, you have to be able to say no! Being a mother is priority number UNO! and I find my mothering skills slack off when I feel pressure to get pictures edited. Also the last thing I want is to be overwhelmed taking pictures and editing and getting too busy I get sick of it. Well, looks like that's all I have time for today folks, I have had my 5 minutes of uninteruptedness, that's about all I get in between being a servant, oops...I meant mother ;)

Horrible end to a horrible day

You know those days, when from the moment you wake up and step out of bed, you just know you're in for a long one...the days when you don't feel good, the kids won't stop fighting and crying from the minute they wake up and you just hope the day goes by fast, that was me yesterday.

It was getting later on in the day, the clock reminding me I had to get dinner ready...yuck, what should I cook, I really don't want to do anything and wish we could eat cold cereal...hmmm, well, I have some leftover pot roast in the refrigerator, maybe I could come up with something out of using leftovers so it will be quick and easy...I have some biscuit mix, maybe I could throw that on top of the beef with a little cream of mushroom soup?? Sure, give it a try. Normally I just follow recipes and if I don't it's something I know will work...this concoction...not quite sure. It sounded gross from the get-go but I just wanted to get something cooked.

Well, lets just say I was right, the minute I pulled that disgusting thing out of the oven, I knew we would not be eating it...great, now I've just wasted time cooking and we still have to eat cold cereal, why didn't I just skip dinner. There is no rule that says I have to cook every night... Luckily I can laugh at myself and didn't take offense to when Micah came home and said "what is that? it looks and smells like someone threw up in a pan and cooked it" Yikes! haha, we had a good laugh about it, we tried feeding some to Gizmo the dog and even he wasn't a fan...

Lessons learned

- Laugh at your mistakes, don't take offense to things to easily

- When you try and be creative with food make sure you have a backup or better yet just follow a recipe unless you're a great chef

- When you don't feel up to cooking dinner or know what to make, skip the concoction and stick with the cold cereal, or better yet take-out!

Kid update

Wow, my kids have been cracking me up lately! It seems like everyday they do and say something worth remembering so I guess I better blog it :)

We got a new Mac and while Micah was putting it together Mya ran into me so excited and said "MOM come see you new i mac, It is SOO ELEGANT!" I usually hear her in her room or something and she will say random long made up words and I will ask her what they mean and she will have a full definition for me as to what it is referring to.

"mom, I don't want the skin (crust) on my bread"

She had her cousins over and I heard her in a not so quiet voice in the other room "HURRY, BEFORE MY MOM COMES!" they were up to no good, and thankfully she warned me by her not so suave move and loud mouth j/k

You never realize how much kids watch and listen to you what you say, I think it is so funny when I hear Mya telling Tay "Tay, if you would just move and give me some peace and quiet for a moment I can find your shoe"

Little Tay is turning into such a little boy/stinker! he is always wanting to wrestle or fight and always wants his "shoot gun" to kill the bad guys.
The other day I gave him a bowl of ice cream and looked over to see him blowing on his ice cream cause it was to cold...guess he still needs to learn that only works with food that's too hot...it cracked me up.

Little Lexie is almost ONE on Feb 27th, I honestly can't believe it, she is still so little and so stinkin cute..we can't get enough of our little bug, she always has a smile, I hardly even know she is there half the time, just crawling around doing her own little thing. She loves to dance too! Mya will turn on her ipod in her room and Lexie will stop whatever she is playing with and get on her little hands and knees and head for Mya's room so she can dance..it is so cute!
I am so glad she has such a fun sweet personality, I love it!
I was a little nervous because both Tay and Mya had a bunch of teeth by her age and just last week Lexie cut her FIRST tooth, but, that doesn't stop her from eating chicken nuggets and what we are eating..she's so over baby food, little stinker. If she doesn't want what I give her like green beans she will pick them up one at a time and throw as hard as she can until every last bean is off of her tray, she's kinda spunky :)

Family pics

We finally got our family pictures taken! I have been wanting to forever but didn't know who we were going to have take them. My sister-in-law, Kari, volunteered to use my camera and become the photographer, thanks Kari!
The day of pictures everything was going really smooth and it always seems like something is bound to go wrong, or that the kids will act up so I was just waiting for that. Well, about 20 minutes before we were suppose to leave, I had just finished Mya's hair and had the curling iron sitting out still and sure enough disaster happened! Tay grabbed it and was screaming bloody murder forever! We could not get him to stop, finally Micah calmed him down.
He wouldn't let me touch him and wouldn't pose for a picture with Lexie and Mya but I was glad we at least got him to smile and not be screaming in all of them.
With kids you take what you can get right?

Thanksgiving

I'm so thankful for everything we are ALL able to enjoy thanks to this free country we have to live in. We take for granted all the good things we have sometimes. We are all so lucky to live the lives we do!

We went to Micah's brother Kody and Nicole's this year, they were so sweet to invite all of us and cook oodles!! of food. yummmy!
Here are some pictures of the beautiful table setting Nicole put together for us. She did so much, I don't know how she does it with five little ones running around, she's Wonder Woman!

Girls night out

I'm so behind on posting, I've been busy with other things lately but just wanted to catch up really quick.

We of course like every other girl out there had to have a girls night out and go see New Moon. We had all of the sisters and sister-in-laws together, and we had a BLAST! I don't think I'd laughed that hard in a long time. Micah and Rob were so sweet to take all the little munchkins so we could go have a break.

BRRR!

When Cedar got it's first snow of the season (which it is not really the season for snow yet is it?) Braden and McKenna came over for a bit and before I knew it they were outside jumping on the trampoline having a BLAST! They would fall down, eat the snow, and were frozen when they came in but they loved it. I'm glad someone likes the cold because when it comes to me and cold, we don't get along too well. I just want to stay inside and never go out unless I absolutely have to.
Note: (These pictures were taken AFTER I made them put on shoes! When they got here I was feeding the baby and they all ran out and were jumping with no coats and bare feet. They were so bothered by the fact that I made them either chose shoes or the house. Kids are crazy!

Garb

Mya woke up one morning and came out of her room wearing this, It cracked me up because this is not how she went to bed, so somehow in the dark she managed to come up with this awesome outfit that I would like to define as a garb.

two years starts tomorrow!!

I can't believe that tomorrow my little brothers go into the MTC. I wanted to go up and say goodbye but my mom told me they changed how they do things now, they no longer let families go in and they are only aloud one car to just drop them off and say goodbye so I thought I would just go up when they actually fly out but they don't let family go to the airport anymore either so I'm kinda sad about that.

I am going to miss them so much and am really proud of them for making the decision to serve missions. I know they will have hard times when they will want to give up and come home but I also know they will have more good times and grow a ton and have some amazing experiences to share. They are going to be the best missionaries and the people will love them. Go get em Lance and Tyce! We love you and are so proud of you!!

Our story

Once upon a time at the collegiate university named SUU there was a boy named Micah Christopher and a girl named Julie Anna who were furthering their education and happened to lock eyes one day during their travels to and from classes and while working on their physiques at the local gymnasium.
They both had eyes for each other but there was a problem. They were both pursuing someone else so how could they ever really cross paths. Then one night at the SUU ball, Micah Christopher asked Julie Anna to dance but Julie Anna was leaving the ball and had to kindly decline the offer, well this was a sign to Micah Christopher that we was indeed suppose to be with the other young lady he was pursuing. Little did he know that Julie Anna was at her college apartment talking to her roommates about the cute boy she had had her eye on and just had to see him again.
Later that week Julie Anna saw him at the gym and apologized for not dancing with him. They decided to go on a date, and ended things with the previous people they were dating and the rest as they say is history.
They later got married, had three kids and live happily ever after.


Today we celebrated our five year anniversary. Time flies! Micah is so sweet and cleaned the house today while I took Mya to school and ran errands then took me to a wonderful dinner. He is the BEST husband a girl could ask for!! (Mya took this picture of us today so it is a little blurry)
